The innauguration of the Mahatma Gandhi's bust at the Museum of Memory at Bicentenario Park will take place on May 21 2013 at 5:00 pm. The cityhall of Medellín and the Embassy ofIndia have installed the bust, with the help of the Honorary Indian Consulate in Medellín. The bust was donated by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations ICCR and was brought directly from India.

In order to provide better services to applicants and to upgrade the services, the collection and delivery of visa applications was outsourced to M/s VFS Worldwide Holdings Ltd with effect from 17th August, 2011. M/s VFS have opened the office at the below address:

With a view to further improving visa services, it has been decided that all visa applications in Colombia, Costa Rica and Ecuador under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of India, Bogota would be filled online at www.vfsglobal.com/india/colombia with effect from 19th September, 2012.
After the mandatory electronic filling of visa applications, the applicants will continue to submit the printed copies of their applications, photos, passports and fees to IVAC. Applications, not filled online, sent by courier/post to the Embassy of India, Bogota or India Visa Application Center, Bogota will not be accepted for processing of visa on or after 19th September, 2012 .
The applicants can fill online applications before 19th September, 2012.
The visa applications filled before 19th September, 2012 will continue to be processed as before. A detailed notice for the guidance of applicants will be issued by M/s VFS Worldwide Holdings Ltd on their website.

WITH EFFECT FROM AUGUST 17, 2011 THE VISA COLLECTION AND DELIVERY PROCESS HAS BEEN OUTSOURCED TO VFS WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS LIMITED FOR COLOMBIA, ECUADOR AND COSTA RICA.VFS would process India Visa Applications in collaboration with its local partner Aviatur S.A., Bogota.
VFS will charge Colombian Pesos 21120 per passport from applicants in Bogota and Colombian Pesos 28800 per passport from applicants in Cali, Cartagena and Medellin and US$11 per passport from applicants in Ecuador and Costa Rica towards visa processing service fee, in addition to regular visa fee. All visa applicants are requested to contact the India Visa Application Centre as per details given below with effect from 17th August, 2011. Postal/courier/Bank/agency charges, wherever applicable, will be additional, to be borne by the applicant.

DIPLOMATIC/OFFICIAL PASSPORT/LAISSEZ-PASSERS PASSPORT HOLDERS:
THE EMBASSY AT BOGOTA WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE AND SERVICE VISAS DIRECTLY IN RESPECT OF DIPLOMATIC/OFFICIAL/UN LP PASSPORTS.
The following documents are required to be submitted:
i) Filled in online application form at www.vfsglobal.com/india/colombia
ii) Original Diplomatic/Official/UN Passport.
iii) Two recent, full-face clear photos (2 inches x 2 inches) with plain light background)
iv) Original Diplomatic Note(Note Verbale) from relevant Mission or Colombian/Ecuadorian/Costa Rica Foreign Office stating applicant’s position,

Please note that visa applications will NOT be accepted at the Indian Embassy except for those holding diplomatic/official/ public affairs passports who may continue to submit their visa applications at the Embassy between 0900 hrs to 1100 hrs on all working days.

1. Passport of all applicants should be valid for six months
2. All applications need to be completed online and signed by the applicant himself. Applications can be submitted in person or can be sent through representatives.
3. Please note that validity of visa starts from the date of issue and not from the date of travel.

“Any person seeking a visa to India for purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of that country permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents. Entering into surrogacy arrangement under any other visa not sought for surrogacy, is punishable under the Indian law.”

Foreigners of Indian Origin:
Foreigners of Indian origin desiring to visit India for short periods each year to meet their relatives etc. can be granted 5 years multiple entry ‘X' visa with a stipulation that each stay shall not exceed 180 days. In this case no registration would be required if the foreigner does not stay beyond 180 days. In case a foreigner of Indian origin is desirous of staying continuously for longer period, the Mission could grant up to 5 year validity ‘X' visa without the limitation of 180 days. In the latter case, the usual condition of registration required within 14 days of first arrival in India (as per the foot note on the visa sticker) would apply.
The nationals of the following countries can be granted Gratis Visa
Afghanistan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Mauritius, Mongolia, Maldives, North Korea (DPRK), Slovak Republic, South Africa and Uruguay.
No visa is required for nationals of Nepal and Bhutan.
