India participates in Oil and Mineral Congress

India participated in a big way in the 4th International Congress on Mining and Petroleum at Cartagena, 2-4 July, 2008.
The Ambassador of India addressed the Congress. Other Indian speakers were Dr. C.S. Jain, Executive Director, ONGC Videsh Limited and Shri Srinivas Bette of Reliance Industries Limited.
The situation on India’s energy front with emphasis on hydrocarbons, but also outlining India’s attempts at seeking alternative sources of energy, were thoroughly explained.
The participants from OVL and Reliance had several meetings with other participants and discussed possibilities of collaboration. Meetings were also held with government functionaries attending the conference. ONGC Videsh Limited also put up a stall at the exposition during the Congress.
