Indian Pharma (IPCA) in Colombia
           
One of the largest Indian pharmaceutical companies, IPCA Limited, launched its fully owned subsidiary in Colombia on 5 August, 2008.
           
The function was attended by the Vice President  of Colombia H.E. Mr. Francisco Santos, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, H.E. Mr. Luis Guillermo Plata, and the Mayor of Bogota , Mr. Samuel Moreno.  All of them spoke at the function in glowing terms of India’s increasing importance in the world and in Colombia and welcomed the investment and technology as well as the high quality and low cost medicines that this joint venture would provide.
           
The Ambassador of India, Shri Deepak Bhojwani also addressed the function detailing the presence of Indian business in Colombia and the particular importance of the pharmaceutical industry, which has grown to a turnover of over US$ 20 billion in India with annual exports of over US$ 7 billion.
IPCA is one of the most important Indian pharma companies, along with Cipla, Claris, Strides, Rambaxy, Ajanta, Biocon and Serum, such among others; many of them have already entered the Colombian
