Economic Seminar in Guayaquil, Ecuador

The Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil, Ecuador hosted a seminar “Doing Business with India” on 19 November 2009 at the prestigious installations of the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Embassy of India.

The President of the Chamber, Mrs. Maria Gloria Alarcon, opened the Seminar recalling the increasing economic importance of India and its commercial importance for Ecuador as a market and as a source of inexpensive inputs for the Ecuador economy.

Ambassador of India, Shri Deepak Bhojwani, addressing the audience outlined salient features of the Indian economy and recent aspects such as rapid growth in certain key sectors such as engineering, pharmaceuticals, software; as well as the key aspects of the India – Ecuador economic relationship and areas of potential.

The Seminar, attended by over 100 businessmen, was highly successful and followed by a lunch hosted by the Ambassador for key Ecuadorean businessmen and members of the Board of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
