Republic Day 2011

The 62nd anniversary of Republic Day of India was celebrated by the Embassy of India at the Residence of Ambassador of India, Shri Riewad V. Warjri, on 26 January 2011.Among the illustrious guests were Minister of Information Technology  and Communications Mr. Diego Molano Vega : Ms. Monica Lanzeta, the acting Foreign Minister of Colombia, senior officials of the Government of the Republic of Colombia; Ambassadors of several countries and representatives of international organizations; and other dignitaries.

The Ambassador spoke of the excellent relationship, that India and Colombia enjoys. The year 2010 had been marked with significant events including high level visits; Cultural Festivals of India, participation of India as Guest of Honour in the Bogota International Fair. The Bilateral Trade touched almost 1 billion US dollars. The Ambassador expressed India's solidarity with Colombia during this difficult times caused by calamities due to sever unprecedented floods, in the form of a donation of USD 1 million .
