Performances of Indian dance and music troops in Bogota, Cali, Medellin, Cartagena and Baranquilla have been regularly sponsored by the ICCR. A cultural event “India Day celebrations” was organized at the Manuela Beltran University in 2006. The Embassy has also been organizing Film festivals, Photo Exhibitions, Indian Food Festivals and Theater performances of Indian troops in Colombia and Ecuador. In 2007, 2008 and 2009 the Festival of India has been held in Bogota, Medellín and Cartagena.
Colombian electronic and print media have been bringing out stories and documentaries/programs on India.
There are centers of Sai Baba in Colombia and a number of spiritual groups such as ISCON, Brahma Kumaris, Nirmala Devi, Babaji Kripal Singh, Theosophical Society etc. There are also a large number of yoga institutions including a branch of the Satyananda Yoga Academy of Munger, Bihar. The Missionaries of Charity has centers all across Colombia including in Bogota. Ayurveda is becoming popular in Colombia and some of the cultural institutions in this country are promoting its study amongst the interested section of the local population.
Several Colombians and Indians got together and in January 2010 formed a renewed Association of Friends of India in Bogota. The Association, which has received official support of the Embassy of India, carries out cultural activities in a variety of areas.

It was set up in March 1975 as one of the long term human welfare projects. The main objective of the society is physical, economic and social rehabilitation of the physically handicapped . The main emphasis of the Society is on providing: artificial limbs and other rehabilitation aids, appliances etc to amputees; calipers, modified footwear and other aids/appliances to polio and leprosy affected and other disabled persons; hearing aids; and scientific and technical research in developing and improving aids and appliances for handicapped.

A Bharatnayam dance troupe led by Ms. Priyadarsini Govind visited Bogota (November 2008).A Kathak dance troupe led by Ms. Mahua Shankar visited Bogota in first week of June 2009, they performed in an event celebrating 50 years of India-Colombia relationship and also inauguration of month long cultural festival Bogota International Espectacular.
