India-Costa Rica Bilateral Relations

The Indian Embassy in Bogota, Colombia is responsible for relations with Costa Rica. India and Costa Rica enjoy friendly and cordial relations having coincidence of views on most of the global issues in the various multilateral fora even though high level bilateral interactions have been minimal. Diplomatic relations with Costa Rica were established in the 1970s with the Embassy in Panama concurrently accredited to Costa Rica. Following India’s appointment of an Honorary Consul in San Jose in 1995, Costa Rica reciprocated by opening an Honorary Consulate in New Delhi in 1996.
