COMMERCIAL RELATIONS

In 2009 Costa Rica imported US $ 47.42 million from India and exported US $ 29.27 million to India. During the last years bilateral trade between India and Costa Rica has been as follows:

Costa Rica mainly imported from India organic chemicals, pharmaceuticals, vehicles and paper, while Costa Rica exported to India wood, machinery, glass, iron and steel.

Scorpio cars are exported in small quantities.

Bajaj three-wheelers and two-wheelers are assembled in Costa Rica by MASESA, the leading importer and distributor of motorcycles in the country.

During the last years delegations from the Costa Rican Organization for Promotion of Foreign Trade have visited the IITF. Also, an important software delegation from Costa Rica participated in Indiasoft 2009.
