Gandhiji’s Autobiography in Costa Rica

The President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Dr. Oscar Arias Sanchez baptized and launched the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi - The story of my experiments with truth – in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica on 16 September, 2008.
           
The autobiography, in Spanish translation, was published by the editorial department of the University of Costa Rica, financed by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.  The book carries a prologue written [ … ]

Colombian Minister of Energy and Mines visits India

Mr. Hernan Martinez Torres, Minister of Energy and Mines of Colombia visited India 4-6 September, 2008 accompanied by Mr. Armando Zamora, National Director for Hydrocarbons of Colombia.

The Minister had an important meeting with the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India, Shri Murli Deora, on 5 September at which the Indian presence and interest in Colombia’s hydrocarbons sector was extensively discussed.  The two Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the hydrocarbons sector [ … ]

Mr. Jose Valencia, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of  Ecuador visited India 16-21 July, 2008
           
During his visit, the Vice Minister had bilateral Foreign Office Consultations with Shri Nalin Surie, Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs on18th July. The Vice Minister addressed a meeting of academicians, journalists, etc. at the Jawaharlal Nehru University and met with Indian businessmen in Delhi and in Mumbai.

Costa Rican Foreign Minister visits India

Mr. Bruno Stagno Ugarte of Costa Rica visited India 9-11 June, 2008.  The Minister participated in the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of SICA (Integration System of Central America) (Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana) on 10 June with External Affairs Minister of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

Visit of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister of Colombia to India

Mr. Luis Guillermo Plata, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia visited India 27 April – 2 May, 2008 accompanied by the Director General of the National Association of Industries (ANDI) Luis Carlos Villegas and a delegation of officials and businessmen.

Donation of medicines to Government of Ecuador by Government of India

In view of the national emergency in Ecuador, the Government of India has airlifted the generic medicines to the friendly Government of Ecuador. The donation of these generic medicines corresponds to a list of required medicines provided by the Government of Ecuador and amount in value to approximately US$200,000. A consignment of medicines from Cipro Pharmaceuticals in 18 cartons weighing 275 Kgs  has already been received by the Ministry of Health of the Government of Ecuador in the last week of Februa [ … ]

The Vice Chief of the Army Staff of India visits Colombia

Lt. Gen. M.L. Naidu (VCOAS) led a defence delegation to Colombia on 14-15 February 2008.  VCOAS called on the Minister of Defence of Colombia, Mr. Juan Manuel Santos and met with the Colombian Chief of the Armed Forces, Gen. Freddy Padilla de Leon as well as with the Chief of the Army, Gen. Mario Montoya, the Chief of the Navy, Gen. Guillermo Barrera, the Chief of the Air Forces, Gen.
