Mr. Jose Valencia, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of  Ecuador visited India 16-21 July, 2008
           
During his visit, the Vice Minister had bilateral Foreign Office Consultations with Shri Nalin Surie, Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs on18th July. The Vice Minister addressed a meeting of academicians, journalists, etc. at the Jawaharlal Nehru University and met with Indian businessmen in Delhi and in Mumbai.

Vice Minister Valencia also called on the Minister of State of External Affairs, Shri Anand Sharma; Minister of State for Mines, Shri B.K. Handique; and Minister of State for Defence, Shri M.M.Pallam Raju.  Discussions were held on a wide range of areas of cooperation in the political, economic and social areas.

Ecuador is a priority in India’s foreign policy, being the first country to purchase the Dhruv Helicopters manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and a close collaborator in several international fora including the United Nations, World Trade Organization, etc.
