The innauguration of the Mahatma Gandhi's bust at the Museum of Memory at Bicentenario Park will take place on May 21 2013 at 5:00 pm. The cityhall of Medellín and the Embassy ofIndia have installed the bust, with the help of the Honorary Indian Consulate in Medellín. The bust was donated by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations ICCR and was brought directly from India.

BRICS summit in New Delhi

Leaders of the emerging world met in New Delhi on March 29th 2012 to discuss creating a new development bank, at a summit in which the block will seek to convert its economic might into collective diplomatic clout. The leaders of the BRICS countries -- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa -- attended the fourth meeting of the block, a key non-Western alliance that is looking to extend its influence. Presidents Dilma Rousseff of Brazil, Dmitry Medvedev of Russia, Hu Jintao of China and Jacob Zuma of South Africa, as well as Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh shook hands at the start of the one-day meeting.
