Mailing by Courier:
The Embassy accepts mailings for Visas/Passports Applications and other miscellaneous consular services. Such applications are processed as soon as the payment and provided documents are complete. Any discrepancy or additional requirement will be notified to the applicants, the documents must be sent to the Embassy in original. The payments can be made in Dollars or Colombian pesos through bank transfer or by bringing the original bank deposit slip in the account of the Embassy of India, Bogota. The passport will be returned once the service has been approved or denied. The Embassy does not accept and is not responsible for money sent by post.

Certification of documents :
It is imperative that all documents produced in India to be presented in other countries are authenticated by the Ministry or State Entity in charge of the matter of interest, then Apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New Delhi (in case the documents are not issued by an Indian authority, thay must be Apostilled by the Government that issued them)  to finally be legalized by this Embassy. The documents issued by the countries that are under the jurisdiction of this Embassy must be authenticated before a notary and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be finally legalized by this Embassy.

The passport, the copy of the resident permit and the foreigner ID has to be attached with the formal request for the service.

And also with the Deputy Commissioner of the police in the places in question, in case the contact cannot be made with these FRROs.

 

Use of Satellite Phones in India :
The use / operation of any wireless telephone service is regulated by the India Telegraph Act, 1885. According to the guidelines of the Government of India, Inmarsat satellite telephones other than BGAN may be used by Government, Corporations and members of mountain expeditions, and other similar categories with authorization from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

The Thuraya satellite phone service is not allowed in India. Any person using this service constitutes a violation of section 4 of the Indian Telegraph Act 1885, generating a fine under sections 20 and 21.

In case of importing phones, the importer must make a detailed statement about the goods.

In the event that satellite phones are entered on the handheld equipment, it should be licensed by the Department of Telecommunications; otherwise they will be retained or confiscated according to the existing procedures until the holder of the telephone obtains a license issued by DoT.
