Textile Delegation visits Colombia
A delegation organised by the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) of India, consisting of 6 companies engaged in export of cotton yarn and textile, visited Bogota 23-24 June, 2008.
The delegation comprised six companies – Lahoti Overseas Ltd., Loyal Textile Mills, Maral Overseas Ltd, Sundaram Textiles Ltd, Ginni Filaments, Nagreeka Exports Ltd – of high level manufacturers and exporters of cotton yarn textiles and related products.
The Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, organized an event at the Corferias installations in Bogota on 23-24 June followed by buyer-seller meetings at which the delegation had extensive interaction with Colombian textile firms.
India is the third largest producer of cotton in the world and has an extensive textile industry. This industry provides inputs such as cotton yarn, threads, and fabrics to the Colombian textile industry.
