Visit of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister of Colombia to India.
Mr. Luis Guillermo Plata, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia visited India 27 April – 2 May, 2008 accompanied by the Director General of the National Association of Industries (ANDI) Luis Carlos Villegas and a delegation of officials and businessmen.
The Minister had meetings with the Commerce and Industries Minister of India, Mr. Kamal Nath; the Finance Minister of India, Mr. P. Chidambaram; Minister of State for External Affairs of India, Mr. Anand Sharma and other dignitaries.
The Minister also met on more than one occasion with Indian businessmen at events organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Federation of Indian Exporters’ Organization (FIEO) as well as intellectuals and academicians. He had interaction with the Indian press as well.
The Minister’s visit included the cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, where the Minister also visited leading Indian companies. A group of Indian businessmen, intellectuals, academicians and others to be called Group Tequendama was formed with the coordination of the Embassy of Colombia in Delhi to undertake activities and promote ties between India and Colombia.
